London, UK, 8 May 2019

Avanti Communications has signed a long-term bandwidth contract on its HYLAS 2 satellite with the Turkish communications satellite operator Turksat.

Turksat commits to 1.8 GHz of capacity on Avanti’s HYLAS 2 satellite for the upcoming three years with an option to extend for a further year. The partnership will commence in June 2019 and revenues will be spread evenly across the life of the contract.

HYLAS 2 delivers ultra-reliable, high throughput data communications across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and East and Southern Africa. It will enable Turksat to service 100% of Turkey and other markets.

“We are delighted to have been able to provide this capacity to Turksat which will cover the whole of Turkey,” said Kyle Whitehill, Chief Executive Officer, Avanti Communications. “This is a significant amount of capacity on HYLAS 2 and demonstrates the demand in the regions in which Avanti operates,” added Whitehill.

Cenk Şen, Chief Executive Officer, at Turksat continued: “We are pleased about our partnership with Avanti, as Turksat is a global player in the satellite market, this agreement will enable each partner to grow their business significantly with providing high-quality solutions to different organisations with a seamless connection.”
